Hollywood stars took to social media Thursday to denounce the Federal Communications Commission, Chairman Ajit Pai, and the agency’s vote to repeal Obama-era net neutrality regulations, restoring what the FCC chief called the restoration of a “free and open Internet.”

Avengers star Chris Evans said: “EVERYONE should care about this! It benefits no one unless you’re a faceless, mega corporation. NOBODY is asking for it.”

Meanwhile, other celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell and porn star Mia Khalifa offered up decidedly more vulgar reactions.

O’Donnell responded to the vote by tweeting the hashtag “” while Khalifa hurled a personal attack at Pai: “Kill yourself, @AjitPaiFCC. Before someone trying to run a dungeon on WoW and can’t access their server does it for you. #NetNeutrality.”

Thursday’s 3-2 party-line vote, as Breitbart News’ Sean Moran notes, will reclassify the Internet as an “information service,” rolling back the FCC’s 2015 net neutrality order, which regulated the Internet as a public monopoly.

As Breitbart News reported:

The order will also require Internet service providers (ISPs) such as Comcast or Verizon to release transparency reports detailing their practices towards consumers and businesses.

The FCC’s net neutrality repeal order will also restore the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) traditional authority and expertise to regulate and litigate unfair, deceptive, and anti-competitive telecommunications practices without onerous regulations and increased cost.

On Monday the FCC and the FTC agreed to share the responsibility to police unfair ISP practices regarding unfair or deceptive practices to block, throttle, or promote web content.

Below is a roundup of all the celebrity rage over the FCC’s vote.
