Mark my words. Rand Paul is never, ever going to appear on the Rachel Maddow show again.
The newly-minted Kentucky GOP senatorial candidate’s interview with Maddow, about the Civil Rights Act of 1964, got testy, as exchanges about race in 2010 that feature far-left pundits with a snotty attitude often do.

Here’s what transpired; the exchange is just after the eight-minute mark:
Maddow: Do you think that a private business has a right to say, “We don’t serve black people”?
Paul: I’m not, I’m not, I’m not in … yeah … I’m not in favor of any discrimination of any form.
But here’s how MSNBC doctored the doctor’s words in answer to Maddow’s original question:
Maddow: Do you think that a private business has a right to say, “We don’t serve black people”?
Dr. Paul: Yes. I’m not in favor…
Whoa! Where’d that “yes” come from? Rand Paul’s avatar? Well, no. To borrow from the bracing lexicon of the New Media, it was inserted, in a transcript, by the ‘lying weasels’ of MSNBC.
Of course, the dino-media ran with the well-spun, creatively-licensed MSNBC transcript version, as the Daily Paul aptly reported, listing several of the MSM outlets that, like the lemmings they are, quoted it.
A very with-it DP reader also noted that Paul told Maddow it is “unusual” for the Courier-Journal, of Louisville, to endorse a Republican candidate, and she, er, creatively amended that to “never” endorse a candidate. Watch the shocking distortion:

The Society of Professional Journalists embraces a code of conduct for its membership. It might be worthwhile to contact their “ethics committee chair,” Andy Schotz, to see what sort of response he offers for Maddow’s dishonest tactics.
As a sidebar, it’s ironic how undiverse that political smear machine comprised of the unholy trio (and self-styled champions of the oppressed) of Maddow-Olbermann-Matthews really is. MSNBC’s head honchos, of course, wouldn’t blatantly discriminate in their hiring practices, would they?
Rand Paul, for his part, issued a convincing statement, vis-a-vis Civil Rights and media bias, on his web site. Given the tough week he’s endured, he deserves the last word (although it’s more of a caveat to those who have ears to hear):
These attacks prove one thing for certain: the liberal establishment is desperate to keep leaders like me out of office, and we are sure to hear more wild, dishonest smears during this campaign.
