Terry Jones is an insignificant minister from Florida who has 30, maybe 50 members of his church.
Now that he has talked about burning Korans he has become a media hero.
No doubt about it, the media and the American left love this preacher because of the foolish actions he is proposing.
On every level, except for his Constitutional right to do so, Jones is flat out wrong with his plans to burn the Koran, but let’s be very clear about why the media are making this guy their biggest star since that guy jumped out of Jet Blue plane on the tarmac.
They want to use Jones as an excuse for the actions of radical Islam.
Listen to the scenarios that are being set up everywhere right now. From the President on down to the lowly broadcasters of MSNBC, Jones is being used as an excuse for any possible violence that may erupt. It’s like the media is telling us that we should understand if radical Muslims blow up troops or attack America because Jones may burn some Korans. What? Blame America and Americans for any future actions of radical Islam is the message the media is spreading as we approach the anniversary of 9-11.
Let’s make this clear, this jihad began 30 years ago when radical Islam declared war on Liberty. It began way before this whacked-out preacher talked about burning the Koran. At every turn the media tries to tell us why we should “understand” the actions of terrorists. When Nidal Malik Hasan shot and killed 13 people and injured 32 at Ft. Hood, while yelling “Allah Akbar,” we were supposed forgive and understand because he had stress over a possible deferment to Iraq. We are told we have to understand terrorists don’t like the prison at Guantanamo Bay (is it still open, BTW?) and that they might attack and kill us because of it. President Obama’s preacher (that he never really listened to) told us that American’s chickens were coming home to roost and that the jihad is our fault.

Now, the message is, it’s reverend Jones who will be to blame for future terrorist attacks, not the terrorists themselves.
Again (and I have to keep saying this), there is nothing I like about what Jones is proposing here. Some 170 years ago members of my faith were persecuted, tarred and feathered, shot and killed and driven from town to town until we finally saw our leader murdered and the remaining members basically left the country for the Territory of Utah. In 1838 the Governor of Missouri issued an extermination order against members of the LDS Church—and this was in a country founded on religious freedom.
I mention this only to offer context. Burning a bible, Koran, Book of Mormon, or the Hindu Suriti is nothing freethinking, religious people would ever consider doing, but it’s not an excuse for violence.
Oh, the media will talk about how reprehensible Jones is for proposing burning the Koran, but this is all about them doing something they love to do and that’s giving radical Islam “cover.”
Ask yourself this, would the media and the President give advance forgiveness to a Christian who committed violence because a bible was burned? Of course not, but they are working overtime trying to absolve radical Islam of any responsibility for any attack that may happen because of the possible actions of one wacky preacher.
I hope Jones reconsiders, but never forget the reason why the media love his story.
