'CJR' Admits MSM Not Giving Traction to Republican Arguments Against Obamanomics

We certainly don’t need the Columbia Journalism Review to tell us our media class isn’t interested in honestly declaring that Barack Obama’s shameless class warfare is, uhm, shameless class warfare; and we certainly don’t need them to tell us the MSM is ignoring Republican arguments…

But it sure is nice to have confirmation:

This bit of faint praise may reflect–to borrow a phrase–the soft bigotry of low expectations, but I’ll offer it anyway: when Republican officials started pushing the risible claim that President Obama’s latest deficit reduction plans are an exercise in “class warfare” earlier this week, the political press responded reasonably. …

If the coverage this time around wasn’t extraordinary, it at least avoided the trap of chasing a bogus narrative. Exactly why that is is hard to say–the question of when nonsense rhetoric becomes a full-fledged meme, and when it stays trapped in the ghetto of partisan media, doesn’t yet have a clear answer. The explanation probably has more to do with the vagaries of the news cycle than anything else. Or maybe reporters have just become inured to this particular bit of over-the-top language. In any case, it was nice not to be subjected to a spate of stories organized around the “class warfare” theme.

The reason the corrupt mainstream media is ignoring the class warfare argument is because they are in favor of class warfare but know it’s unpopular. Obama’s chances of getting away with robbing the productive to give to the clueless and lazy and corrupt are much better if the MSM pretends he’s “creating jobs” or “saving jobs” or “reducing the deficit” or whatever the latest Big Lie talking point is.

But once again, we thank CJR for their willingness to confirm that Obama’s media Palace Guards are doing a fine job of palace guarding.
