Gloria Borger: Obama is Superman

Since other liberal pundits are throwing the President under the bus over his latest jobs bill, I’ve only to assume that Borger wants to differentiate herself by doubling-down on his perception of teflon awesomeness.

If you’re President Obama, you’ve had a bit of a transformation. That is, from the mild-mannered Clark Kent into, well, Superman.

When was Obama ever “mild-mannered?”

Borger continues:

So he joined the game. Maybe it’s the opening salvo, and maybe something will come of this kabuki. But there is a final calculation here: if nothing comes out of the supercommittee, the president would be less damaged than the Congress.

As for the rest of us, we’re still Waiting for Superman. The real one.

Trying to shift blame for gridlock to congress only serves to portray Obama as a wholly incompetent leader. There wasn’t always gridlock in congress; Obama didn’t get much of anything done even when he controlled all three branches of government. Democrats have had a congressional majority from 2006 until this last midterm election.

Obama at some point has to own his record, otherwise on what is he going to run for reelection next year? He’s been in office for nearly a full term yet the Democrat defense is that we’re not suffering the effects of any of his policies? If this is their best defense no wonder there have been whispers of a primary challenger.
