Two Obama Supporters Verify Romney Left Bain in 1999, Why Won't Politico's Dylan Byers?

Two Obama Supporters Verify Romney Left Bain in 1999, Why Won't Politico's Dylan Byers?

Even though practically every fact-check organization in America is now firmly on the record siding with Mitt Romney’s claim he left Bain Capital in February of 1999….

The report showed that Romney remained on the board of three companies, two of which had Bain connections — Staples and LifeLike Co. The report said he returned to Massachusetts “to attend meetings at Staples,” but does not mention that he attended any meetings at Bain, even as it provides a long list of social events that brought him back to Massachusetts. One would think that if Romney was trying to prove continued links to Massachusetts, he would have emphasized he kept doing work for Bain.

In other words, an official state investigation concluded that Romney no longer worked at Bain as of early 1999, and also was working “12 hours a day, six days a week” on the Olympics from 1999 to 2002. That also would seem to trump the SEC filings.

…like an aging Japanese WWII soldier hiding out in a cave on some Pacific island, Politico’s Dylan Byers refuses to give up the fight. This is from today:

Again, [Paul] Begala is biased, but he isn’t the only one advising Romney to address questions about his Bain tenure head-on. Several Republican strategists have also said that Romney would better serve his candidacy by releasing more information about both his financial sector service and his finances in general.

There is nothing left for Romney to address as far as his “Bain tenure.” The facts are the facts are the facts.

But Byers isn’t interested in facts; he’s only interested in destroying Romney to see His Precious One reelected.

Worst still, Byers is even more deranged and dishonest than most Obama supporters. Last night, CNN’s John King reported to Wolf Blitzer that Bain officials — three of them Democrats, two of those three Obama 2012 supporters — verified for him that Romney left Bain in February of 1999:

—–

[Registered Democrat and Bain official Steve Pagliuca] said “Mitt Romney left Bain Capital in February 1999 to run the Olympics and he has had absolutely no involvement with the management or investment activities of the firm or with any of its portfolio companies since the day of his departure.” The three other sources were very consistent with that, Wolf. Now of the four sources, three of them are Democrats. Two of them are active Obama supporters in campaign 2012. They say they were all there at Bain at the time. They said Mitt Romney left pretty quickly. The deal with the Olympics was struck pretty quickly. They said we need you, we need you to come now and all four insisted he left in the middle of February 1999.”

Yesterday, the increasingly erratic and dishonest Obama Team suggested Romney might be a felon. It was an outrageous charge based on what they and the media now know is an outrageous lie.

Why do Politico and Dylan Byers continue to push this lie?

Rhetorical question.
