HuffPo Flacks & Fails, Beats Dead Horse

If you took progressive flack Sam Stein at HuffPo’s written word for it, you might think something is happening here. It’s not.

Mitt Romney Bain Attacks: Obama-Backing Super PAC Goes Back To The Well-The group, which just reported raising $15.2 million in September, is re-releasing its most effective ad from the summer in key swing states. The spot features an employee at a Bain-controlled company discussing how he had to build a stage for a company announcement, only to find out that the announcement was that workers had been fired.

That Team Obama is now reduced to going back to the well tells us that they have nothing new – long after September wiped out any gains they may have realized from spending millions on the same old ads they are running now.In short, it’s old news in the form of a press release from Priorities USA, which Stein dutifully struggles to dress up as news once again.Politicos went from obsessing on Romney’s narrow path to 270 Electoral votes, to now being forced to headline items pointing out the race is dead even. Romney is still gaining ground, even after the second debate, which some conceded benefited Obama as expectations were so low given his first disastrous performance.

Obama and Romney both get 47 percent among likely voters in the latest edition of the poll, conducted entirely in the aftermath of the second presidential debate last Monday. In the last national NBC/WSJ poll, which was conducted before debate season began, the president held a narrow, three-point lead over his GOP challenger, 49 percent to 46 percent.

That Obama’s Super-PAC can’t even come up with anything worth pushing in a new ad of some kind indicates they’re as out of ammunition, as Obama is out of ideas. But don’t allow that to distract you. HuffPo has some news for you. We’ll be certain to pass it along the moment we figure out what it actually is.
