ABC News' Karl: Expect Lots Of Benghazi Questions For Carney

ABC News’ Jonathan Karl expects all his colleagues on the front row of the White House briefing room to pepper spokesperson Jay Carney with multiple questions today following his exclusive story exposing the multiple revisions to talking points related to the Benghazi terror attacks on September 11, 2012.

Karl joined me and co-host Brian Wilson Friday morning on “Mornings on the Mall” on WMAL-FM in Washington DC.  After laying out the explosive details of his report, which include detailed notes from State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland who raised specific objections to this paragraph drafted by the CIA in its earlier versions of the talking points:

The Agency has produced numerous pieces on the threat of extremists linked to al-Qa’ida in Benghazi and eastern Libya. These noted that, since April, there have been at least five other attacks against foreign interests in Benghazi by unidentified assailants, including the June attack against the British Ambassador’s convoy. We cannot rule out the individuals has previously surveilled the U.S. facilities, also contributing to the efficacy of the attacks.

Nuland had that paragraph removed from the talking points delivered to Ambassador Susan Rice before her appearance on all five Sunday morning talk shows following the attacks.

“I would like to know if Jay would like to revise and extend his comments about there only being one word change by the State Department or the White House… I’m sure this will be asked by many people.”
