Search Engine Bing Highlights Gay Pride Parades

On the weekend following the pair of U.S. Supreme Court rulings concerning same-sex marriage, search engine Bing highlighted the decisions and several nationwide pride parades by featuring a full-screen image of the gay pride rainbow flag.

Google has made itself famous for its “doodles” on the search engine’s home page–little cartoon images, often animated, that celebrate holidays, birthdays of well known persons, and scientific achievements. Microsoft’s Bing has not marked important days or incidents on its landing page quite as often.

This weekend, however, Bing changed its background days after the two Supreme Court decisions that struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and declined to interfere in California overturning Proposition 8.
