Ninety-percent of the time, “Morning Joe” is predominantly a rich, white, smug panel of elites who not only agree that government is good and conservatives are evil, but also agree that one another are wonderful. It is a velvet bubble within a bubbled bubble wrapped in satin. Every once in a while, though, a free-thinker gets through, which is what happened Thursday when the Washington Times’ senior editor Emily Miller showed up to debate gun control.
You will want to pay special attention to 4:05 – 5:20 where Miller’s calm, cool command of the facts makes Time’s Mark Halperin look ridiculous:
For months Joe Scarborough and his fellow “Morning Joe” leftists railed against conservatives and the NRA for opposing Barack Obama’s and his media’s latest gun-grabbing scheme. Scarborough was at his sanctimonious worst predicting the end of the GOP if they did not cave.
But as Miller shows here, their arguments were and are anti-science, not based on facts, and cannot hold up to someone who knows what she is talking about. (Miller wrote a whole book on this debate.)
We saw the same thing happen when Piers Morgan met our own Ben Shapiro.
If Scarborough has Miller back, which he should, he’s gunna need more guys.
And Halperin should just save himself some time and bring his shine-box to the studio.
