Government Accountability Institute (GAI) president and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer will appear on CBS’s This Morning on Monday morning to discuss his new book, Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets.
CBS’s 60 Minutes aired a segment on Sunday featuring some of the revelations in the book, which indicts Democrats and Republicans in Washington’s permanent political class for using mafia-like tactics to extract political donations from individuals and industries. Schweizer will discuss that segment on This Morning.
Schweizer’s last book, Throw Them All Out, shocked the political establishment, rocked Capitol Hill and, as Breitbart News reported, mobilized Americans against Washington’s permanent political class and forced Congress to pass the STOCK Act, which banned insider trading by lawmakers in Congress. That book was also a subject of a 60 Minutes segment. President Barack Obama would later sign a repeal of some of the significant disclosure provisions of the STOCK Act.
