Earlier on Sunday, the Daily Caller’s Betsy Rothstein published an unattributed and un-sourced story with the erroneous headline “Ben Shapiro OUT at Breitbart News,” claiming that Shapiro, Breitbart’s Senior Editor-at-Large, was “parting ways with the company.”
“Nothing has changed,” said Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alexander Marlow. “It’s business as usual.”
“While I am moving full-time to TruthRevolt thanks to the tremendous growth we have experienced, I am excited to be staying in the Breitbart family continuing my role as Senior Editor-at-Large,” Shapiro stated. “As a longtime friend of Andrew’s and a true believer in his vision for the conservative future, I look forward to continuing my work with Breitbart.com in pursuit of that vision.”
In August of 2013, Breitbart News broke the story of TruthRevolt’s launch. In an endorsement of the watchdog website, Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon described the endeavor as a “continuation” of the work of Andrew Breitbart and David Horowitz.
