The New York Times Slams Obama Foreign Policy Speech

President Obama delivered a speech yesterday on foreign policy, and the New York Times was not impressed.

In their May 29 print editorial, the Times editors write that Obama’s speech at West Point “provided little new insight,” relied on “hackneyed phrases,” and was even “ludicrous.”

The editorial criticizes Obama for glossing over conflicts in Egypt, failing to properly address China and Russia, barely addressing government surveillance abuses and drone strikes, and offering token support for the closure of the prison at Guantanamo Bay.
