Muslim Cleric Makes 9/11 Joke During CNN Soundcheck

Brian Stelter, host of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” invited radical Muslim cleric Anjam Choudary on for a chat. After arrogantly puffing himself up as someone who would generate more light than heat than Sean Hannity (who had a heated discussion with Choudary last week), Stelter proceeded to interrupt and talk over the Shariah-promoting cleric.

Stelter finally settled down after Choudary complained about the CNN host being argumentative. Without a hint of self-awareness, Stetler later asked the radical cleric why he would go on a show like “Hannity.”

The interview ended with the revelation that Choudary joked about 9/11 and other significant terror attacks during his soundcheck just prior to his appearance:

Stelter: Here’s what bothers me: when we were setting up for our interview here, the audio engineer asked you to do what every guest does — count to ten to check the mic. You started to do that but then you said ‘9/11, 7/7, 3/11.’ Is this all some sort of joke?

Choudary: You know, if you had a sense of humor, you would have laughed at that. It was just a soundcheck. You shouldn’t take any of these things that seriously. Obviously, you know–

Stelter:  A sense of humor?

Coudary and Stetler talk over one another.

Choudary: If  you want to make it a big deal, then do so, but it makes you look much more shallow, really.

Stelter: I have nothing more to say.

That was the end of the interview.

Somewhere Hannity is chuckling.
