Fusion TV Laments 'Undocumented' Women Having Hard Time Getting Abortions in Texas

Left-wing, ABC-owned cable TV outlet Fusion TV lamented recently that “undocumented” women find it “nearly impossible” to get an abortion in South Texas.

In an October 9 tweet to advertise its story, Fusion said, “It’s almost impossible for an undocumented woman in South Texas to get an abortion.”

The Tweet contains a link to the story that insists, “If you’re undocumented, it’s now almost impossible [to get an abortion] thanks to a wall of roving border patrol checkpoints that stand between you and the remaining abortion clinics.”

The story goes on to report that the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit recently approved a Texas law that increased standards for cleanliness and patient safety in the state’s abortion clinics. But the piece is sour on the rules.

For undocumented women in the region, crossing an inland border patrol checkpoint to get an abortion means risking deportation. Two years ago, 41 abortion clinics operated in Texas, including four which were accessible without crossing an inland checkpoint. But after restrictions passed by a Republican-led legislature were enacted, only eight clinics remain in the whole state and none fall below the wall of checkpoints.

Fusion TV is connected to Spanish language TV Noticias Univision. Fusion shares studio space with Univision, and one of Fusion’s shows is hosted by Jorge Ramos, host of Univision’s Noticiero Univision.
