Jorge Ramos: Journalists, Hispanic Activists Convinced Obama to Pay ‘Debt’ to Latinos with Exec Amnesty

After President Barack Obama announced his massive executive amnesty on Thursday evening, Fusion and Univision anchor Jorge Ramos triumphantly declared that pro-amnesty journalists and Hispanic leaders helped push Obama on amnesty.

Speaking in front of the White House on Fusion, Ramos–who had said Obama’s executive amnesty will represent the “newfound” power of the Latino community–said Obama was “paying a debt” to the Latino community with his executive amnesty.

Ramos has been one of the most vocal pro-amnesty activist journalists on the left, making no secret that one of his goals is to see broad comprehensive amnesty legislation enacted that would give a pathway to citizenship for all of the country’s illegal immigrants. He arguably questioned Obama the toughest during the 2012 election cycle by calling Obama out for not living up to his “promise” to Latinos to enact comprehensive amnesty legislation.

Ramos said Obama, who had previously said he could not act like an “emperor” or “king” to unilaterally enact executive amnesty, started to change his mind on the issue after being pressured by “Hispanic leaders, Latino organizations,” and “journalists.” Ramos said there is “no question about it.”
