Report: Brian Williams Could Lose Anchor Chair This Week

Celebrities Attend Montreal Canadiens Vs New York Rangers Game - January 29, 2015

Another day, another deadly leak from NBC News about the fate of suspended “Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams. The New York Post is reporting today that Williams is almost certain to lose his anchor chair. The announcement could come as early as this week.

Williams’ six-month suspension is not over until the end of August. The network is also trying to figure out a way to hold on to Williams, who recently signed a contract worth $50 million — a contract that apparently allows to Williams to tell serial lies without facing a penalty.

Trial balloons about Williams anchoring over at MSNBC have been floated. It is hard for any outsider like myself to see Williams staying on in any capacity other than as the “Nightly News” anchor. Outside of the public humiliation for Williams in a  diminished role, a demotion is an admission of wrongdoing. How does any news network keep any one on in any capacity if they are guilty of lying to the public?
