SiriusXM Announces 7-Day-a-Week Breitbart News to Be ‘Conservative News Show of Record’

Breitbart News radio, hosted by Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon and co-hosted by Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow, will now be airing 6:00-9:00am EST Mondays through Fridays.

This will go along with the weekend programs so that Breitbart radio will be on seven days a week on SiriusXM “Patriot” channel 125 starting November 2. SiriusXM Patriot channel 125 hosts a number of other prominent conservative radio personalities including Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Andrew Wilkow, David Webb, and Glenn Beck.

“This show is 100% about the audience, those ‘low information’ citizens who are mocked and ridiculed by their ‘betters’–the clueless elites. The Breitbart News audience is the most hungry for news, information, and analysis on the web and we intend to bring this intensity to the Sirius XM show on a daily basis,” Bannon said.

The expansion will make Breitbart News the first live, conservative radio enterprise to air seven days a week. It will bring a constant stream of information—including interviews with lawmakers, presidential candidates, and political activists—to the conservative grassroots. The show will also be taking calls from the audience, so there will be a maximum amount of participation.

In an interview with Politico, Bannon said, “The show is the natural extension [of Breitbart.com]. It reflects what’s on the pages of the site, so we couldn’t be happier.”

“This populist nationalist conservative movement, whether it’s Donald Trump or Ben Carson or House Freedom Caucus, those are all results of this popular revolt. You see it on the left with Bernie Sanders, all the enthusiasm he has at these rallies, you see it on the right. The tea party movement has really matured to a place where it wants results and wants actions,” Bannon said in the Politico interview. “Our site is the platform for that voice and that’s what SiriusXM finds exciting.”

Bannon made it clear that the show will feature a heavy dose of Tea Party and grassroots leaders, but it will also feature establishment Republicans and Democrats who will be allowed to make their case to the people. For instance, Bannon mentioned Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders as a potential interview because there is some overlap between his message and the modern tenor of the grassroots base.

“We’re particularly interested in Sanders since we think at least some of the issues driving [his surge] are very relevant to our audience,” Bannon said to Politico.

Dave Gorab, Vice President and General Manager, Talk Programming for SiriusXM said, “We intend to make Breitbart News Daily the conservative morning show of record.”

Gorab called Breitbart News a “juggernaut” and a “must-read” website that can now blast out a message over the air waves every day.

“From stories at Breitbart.com to our social media pages, we are seeing more and more engagement and passion from our audience. In the heat of a 2016 election cycle that’s changed all the rules, it makes sense for us to team with SiriusXM for a daily program,” Marlow said in the Politico interview.

“With his deep knowledge of the inner-workings of national politics and his connections with major figures throughout the party and beyond, Stephen K. Bannon will be a trusted resource and sounding board for our Patriot audience throughout the 2016 campaign,” Gorab continued.

According to a SiriusXM press release, Breitbart News receives more that 22 million unique visitors a month and “110 million page views.” It stated that “Amongst English language news sites worldwide, social media analytics firm NewsWhip recently reported Breitbart News ranks #19 in Facebook publishers, #6 for most Facebook comments, and #23 for Twitter publishers.”

Breitbart News CEO Larry Solov said of the seven-day-a-week show launch, “The success and growth of Breitbart.com paved the way for the success of Breitbart News Saturday and Sunday on SiriusXM Patriot. Our entire brand is about listening to our audience and giving them more of what they want, making this the perfect time to expand our relationship with SiriusXM and give our combined audience another platform to help drive the national political and cultural conversation.”

SiriusXM subscribers will also be able to listen to the daily radio show via SiriusXM On Demand, through the SiriusXM App on smartphones, as well as online at siriusxm.com.
