Judge Denies Gawker’s Bid for New Trial in Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Case

A Florida judge body slammed Gawker’s bids for a new trial and reduction of the massive $150 million judgement made in favor of Hulk Hogan.

Judge Pamela Campbell said she couldn’t find a case quite like Hogan’s lawsuit, which successfully proved that Gawker violated his privacy by posting footage of him having sex with a one-time pal’s wife.

“I appreciate the case law that was on the garden variety – but really none of those cases were like this case,” she said. “There were medical cases, not comparable.”

Still, Campbell upheld the jury’s findings and award to the former pro wrestler.
