There Should Be Limits To Speech in the Classroom

Well, the problem for me is – he made those inflammatory remarks in front of impressionable students, and he really shouldn’t have. I know if a teacher made equally offensive and controversial statements in front of one of my kids, I’d want something done about it.

It seems to me, considering how profoundly politically incorrect his statements were, he got off light.

I would hope the same standard were applied equally – it shouldn’t matter whether it’s a left-wing or right-wing teacher going off the rails with his/her rhetoric, although I think I know better than to expect that’s actually the case.
