What say you, Sheriff Dupnik?

Hey, liberal media guys!  Remember Sheriff Clarence Dupnik?  Sure you do.  You’ve probably still got his number in your speed-dial systems from 2011.  He’s probably still in your email contact list.  

For the benefit of those who don’t remember him, Dupnik is the Pima County, Arizona sheriff who became an overnight media sensation when he blamed the Jared Lee Loughner shootings on conservative talk radio.  “When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government, the anger the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous,” he told breathless reporters looking to keep that Climate of Hate narrative alive.

“In general terms that’s why I say that I think that people who make a living preaching hate, to hate the government, to be angry at the government, to destroy the government, to do it to politicians, elected officials and so forth, have some responsibility,” he later clarified.  “Even though it may be free speech, I don’t think free speech goes without some responsibility and some consequences.”  He delivered this clarification on… Keith Olbermann’s MSNBC show.

So how about it, liberal media reporters?  What say you get your old pal Sheriff Dupnik, onetime media superstar, on the phone and ask him what he thinks about left-wing mass murderer Chris Dorner?  Was Dorner equally motivated by the hatred and vitrol spewing from his favorite MSNBC and CNN hosts?  Gun-control advocates love to talk about their political opponents in highly aggressive terms, often questioning their very humanity.  Does Dupnik think those folks need to take some “responsibility” for their free speech?
