During Obama’s presidency, I’ve often had occasion to refer to George Orwell’s dictum that the greatest opposition to a left-wing government is its previous propaganda.
So, too, with North Korea’s latest nuclear provocation. In 2008, Obama vowed to “eliminate” the Kim regime’s nukes. He also congratulated himself on his progress in the State of the Union addresses of 2010 and 2011.
One of only many broken promises, but a serious one.
