It’s funny how the media has been all abuzz about Florida Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’s “Great Gulp Gaffe,” today. As Breitbart News’ Editor-At-Large, Ben Shapiro points out, CNN (“Jokingly”) asks if Rubio taking a sip of water during his State of the Union response was a career ender.
I don’t recall the press asking the same questions or cracking jokes about President Obama when it was revealed that he smoked weed. In fact, when it was discovered that President Obama did cocaine in college, when he could “afford it,” ABC News said “Obama’s Cocaine Confessional Won’t ‘Blow’ His Chances.”
As Debra and Ace both point out, it’s only funny when a conservative can be made the butt of the joke. Rubio’s mistake wasn’t taking a sip of water at an awkward moment. No. His mistake was being a Republican while he did it.
