'The Ricks' Facing Off in a Shoot Out At the OK Political Corral

During last night’s State of the Union address, President Obama tastelessly declared that the victims of gun violence “deserve a vote” and called on Congress to take action to prevent future violence.  What those victims of gun violence really deserve is justice and a measure of respect- not a symbolic vote from Congress or legislation that affirmatively encroaches on the rights of law-abiding citizens to own certain types of guns.

Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) has already proposed a stringent gun-control bill that will face considerable push back from both Republicans and Democrats in the Congress, and it’s not expected to pass the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives.

Florida Governor Rick Scott was recently asked if he owned a gun, and he answered in the affirmative.  Scott is a card carrying member of the NRA and strong second amendment supporter who owns several firearms along with his wife Ann.

No word if Scott is as avid a hunter as his friend Texas Governor Rick Perry.  The two governors have engaged in a friendly competition about who’s state is better and more attractive for business.

But there’s yet to be a wager on which of the two is the best shot or who owns the nicer pair of customized Cowboy boots. No offense to Governor Scott, but my money would be on Governor Perry.
