President's Day: A Day to Remember to Resent Public Unions

In the almost thirty years I’ve worked a full-time job and supported myself, never once has an employer of mine offered a President’s Day off. And why would they? It’s not a real holiday. What we have here is just another holiday exploited by government unions; another Monday where those of us who work out here in the real world go to the mailbox, find there’s no mail, and are reminded that, once again, we just spent another day working in order to fund a holiday for government workers.

Pensions, Cadillac health plans, all these obscure holidays gerrymandered to fall on a Monday so the people who are supposed to be working for us get to enjoy yet another three-day weekend…

Civil service, my eye.

It’s a racket, pure and simple.
