Martin Bashir calls AIPAC 'Israel's top lobbying group'

I’ve soured on the AIPAC Policy Conference, but facts are facts, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee is an American lobbying group, not an Israeli one, as indicated by the chyron today in Martin Bashir’s coverage. 

The fact that AIPAC lobbies (theoretically) for a closer U.S.-Israel relationship is a reflection of the broad support among the American public for friendship with Israel, not a result of the intervention of a foreign nation in American domestic politics, as Bashir and MSNBC seem to imply.
