Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" Slides to Bottom of the Popularity Poll

Fewer than 20% of those surveyed support the type of Federal Government interference in local schools First Lady Michelle Obama has been using American tax dollars to push as part of her “Let’s Move” effort.

Let’s Move! is committed to providing healthier foods in our nation’s schools, and encourages all schools to provide school breakfast.

But “only 18% of Americans think the federal government should have a say in nutritional standards at schools,” according to Rasmussen.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of Adults believe school nutritional standards should be set locally, with 36% who feel parent-teacher groups should do it and 16% who believe it should be up to local governments. This marks a seven-point shift in favor of local control from 45% in March who favored parent-teacher groups or local governments making the call. Fourteen percent (14%) think state governments should set the standards. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure.

School may be back in but clearly an overwhelming percentage of Americans think the type of top down Washington-based solutions the Obama administration has come to represent are out.
