Rand Paul To Join Cruz on The Senate Floor Later Today…

Ted Cruz has been staging a filibuster on the Senate floor since 2:41 this afternoon (livestreaming video here, live updates, here) with assists from Senators Lee and Vitter  (who was viciously attacked because of his amendment to end the exemption to ObamaCare for members of Congress and their staffs.)

Cruz said he would speak “until I am no longer able to stand,” to protest Harry Reid’s plan to strip the bill of the provision that defunds ObamaCare.

If you’ve been watching this, you may be wondering where Rand Paul is. Ted Cruz very notably offered aid to Paul during his 13 hour  filibuster, earlier this year.

The Hill reports that  Paul is heading to the Senate floor to support Sen. Ted Cruz…

A Paul aide said that the senator, who famously launched a talking filibuster of John Brennan’s nomination as CIA director to focus attention on President Obama’s policy on drones earlier this year, will join Cruz on the floor to offer “reinforcements” sometime later today. It’s unclear how long Paul will talk, or what he’s expected to say.

Good to know…
