Veteran House Stenographer Dragged Off House Floor

U.S. House stenographer Dianne Reidy was forced off the floor on Wednesday night following the House’s passage of a debt limit resolution package, which would end the government shut down. Reidy, who has worked as a recorder for the House for over 20 years made her way to the Speaker’s chair and began ranting, saying that America was not one nation under God.

Rep. Illeana Ros-Lehtinen (R – FL) pounded the gavel calling for order as Reidy was hauled off the floor into the Speaker’s Lobby where reporters saw Capitol Hill staff escort her off to the elevators. Being physically held by staff and waiting for the elevator doors to open Reidy said to reporters:

“He will not be mocked. He will not be mocked. He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been, the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons. They go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God–Lord Jesus Christ.”

Members of Congress, veteran reporters, and staff appeared bewildered and saddened by Reidy’s bizarre behavior and described her as always very friendly and easy to work with.
