VIDEO: Alleged Gang Members Beating Teen Who Wanted Out

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. – Police say several students have been arrested for beating a teenage boy who wanted out of a gang. The incident occurred on October 1, at Mundy’s Mill High school and was captured on cell phone video.

The graphic video shows several boys kicking the victim in the head and stomping on him in a school locker room and is described as “very graphic,” by Clayton County School police Maj. Chanti Ashemore.

At one point in the video, one of the attackers shouts, “Are you stupid, (expletive)? Let me see your face.” The 30 second beating was laced with profanity and racial slurs.

Police said the student was “jumped out.” “It’s a term that gang members use when they try to get other gang members who want to get out of a gang. They ‘jump’ them out of a gang,” Ashemore explained.

Twins Davontae and Travontae Moore,17, face battery, disrupting the operation of a public school and participation in criminal gang activity charges. One of the brothers smiled as he listened to the charges yesterday in court.

One other student was arrested, and juvenile complaints were filed against two others.

The victim suffered numerous injuries including a lost tooth, a black eye and multiple bruises all over his body. Police say it was the first of five beatings the alleged gang members intended to give him.
