In response to Sebelius blames shutdown for ObamaCare rollout disaster:
Sebelius was merely following Obama’s lead, of course. The president also tried to implicate the shutdown for ObamaCare’s launch failures during his rah-rah-wha? pep rally, Monday.
He said, “About three weeks ago, as the federal government shutdown, and the Affordable Care Act’s health insurance marketplaces opened up across the country,” said Obama. “Well, we’ve now gotten the government back open for the American people and today I want to talk about how were going to get the marketplaces running at full steam as well.”
Just like Sebelius, he fell short of directly blaming the shutdown for ObamaCrash because he knows it’s patently absurd and even his lapdogs in White House Press Pool would have to challenge him on that. But they can make vague suggestions that the MSM will overlook.
Jay Carney doesn’t overtly blame the shutdown for ObamaCrash, either – he just
likes to mention it in passing while discussing the ObamaCare launch. On
Monday night, for instance, he appeared on CNN with Piers Morgan to defend Obama’s “signature achievement.”
Morgan asked Carney, “At what point do you consider a head rolling?”
Carney
replied that “It shouldn’t be about making heads roll and firing
people.” He then proceeded to try and make it about Sen. Cruz and the
GOP shutting down the government because they opposed Obamacare.
“We know there have been opponents of ObamaCare…. Ted Cruz led a campaign to shut the government down over his opposition to ObamaCare…”
See? They imply that the shutdown somehow effected the ObamaCare launch – not for the consumption of reporters who actually know better – it’s for low info Americans who don’t know better. Those Obama voters his highness actually has nothing but contempt for because he expects them to believe his ridiculous lies.
It’s clear to me that this is going to be a strategy going into 2014, (along with a return of the Republican War on Women, part II in a continuing series.) They’re going to keep coupling the shutdown with ObamaCrash, implying to lofos that the former had something to do with the latter, and the MSM will let them get away with it.
