Hunter Charged After Shooting Himself in the Buttock

A 21-year-old Owen Sound man has been charged with using a firearm carelessly to hunt under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act after police say he accidentally shot himself in his buttock while hunting near the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Grey County Ontario Provincial Police say the victim was alone in a tree stand and attempted to hang his rifle on a tree hook when it accidentally fired sending a bullet into his buttock.

Buttock refers to either of the two soft parts of the body that a person sits on.
