Rubio and Bonilla Both Pounce On Obama Over Confirmation Al Qaeda Attacked Benghazi Consulate

Florida Senator Marco Rubio, joined his fellow Floridian, and congressional candidate, Jorge Bonilla, in calling for full transparency and accountability over Benghazi from the Obama administration and its State Department, this after it was learned that the attack was indeed carried out by Al Qaeda fighters.

Bonilla  pointed out that his opponent, Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson, “disgracefully deemed deemed Benghazi “the scandal that never was,” when in reality, this scandal is only growing legs.

There are those who seek to downplay the ramifications of the events of September 11th, 2012, such as Congressman Alan Grayson, who disgracefully deemed Benghazi “the scandal that never was”. However, I refuse to ignore the sacrifices of Stevens, Smith, Woods, and Doherty. The blood of our brave dead continues to cry out for  justice, and shame on those who willfully refuse to listen.-Jorge Bonilla

Rubio, who is a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released the follow statement, in which he mentions how the Obama administration served as more of a “roadblock,” than a helpful partner trying to get at the “root cause of these attacks.”

“This report will contribute to the overall examination into those attacks. However, this is not a complete report, and it only sheds light on part of the overall picture. The  American people deserve the truth when it comes to the Benghazi attacks, and more work needs to be done.

“In particular, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has yet to seriously examine these attacks that resulted in the death of four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens. The committee should reexamine former Secretary of State Clinton’s failure to provide adequate security for our deployed personnel in Benghazi, as well as what actions she and others, including the President, took in the hours and days that followed the attack.

“Throughout this investigation, the Obama administration was more of a roadblock than a contributor to committee efforts to look into the root cause of these attacks. This is especially troubling given that no one at the State Department, which has direct responsibility for the safety of U.S. diplomatic posts overseas, has been held accountable.

“Despite many promises of ensuring justice for those behind this attack, that has not happened. This complete absence of accountability is unacceptable, and it is my hope that this administration will finally commit the intelligence, diplomatic and military resources to bring those responsible for these attacks to justice.”-Sen. Marco Rubio
