Fresh off announcing “an aggressive plan to prevent traffic deaths,” New York’s CBS 2 cameras have caught a car carrying New York City Mayor Bill (Do as I say, not as I do) de Blasio violating “a number of traffic laws.”
De Blasio’s two-car caravan was reportedly speeding, running multiple stop signs, and breaking other traffic laws, as well. It was only days ago when announcing his new traffic program that de Blasio claimed public officials would hold themselves to the same standards they were demandingh of the public.
Evidently, that simply was not true.
When the mayor announced his 62-point safe streets initiative, which includes lowering the speed limit to 25 mph, he said, “We want the public to know that we are holding ourselves to this standard.”
But Kramer reported the mayor failed to practice what he preached Thursday.
According to CBS, these are the observed violations and penalty points they would accrue: Driving or rolling through a stop sign: 3 points; Driving or rolling through a stop sign a second time: 3 points; Going 10 mph over the 30 mph speed limit: 3 points; Going 15 mph over the 45 mph speed limit: 4 points.
The point total for the four violations is 13. A New York license can be suspended with only 11 points.
