FL Governor Says VA Hospital Facilities Turned Away State Healthcare Inspectors (Video)

During a medal awards ceremony in honor of Florida veterans at the National Guard Armory in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Governor Rick Scott was asked about the ongoing Department of Veterans Affairs scandal, where numerous American veterans have fallen ill or have died, because of the VA’s neglect at several of the department’s facilities, including the hospital in Miami.

Incredibly, Scott said he has asked VA facilities in the state about veteran healthcare neglect, but the facilities have not come forward and responded to his request.

Scott also said that the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration, who is tasked to do inspections of VA facilities, have been turned away.

“Their whole goal was to make sure that our veterans get quality healthcare, and they’re turning them away when they just want to sure how can we improve the process.”Gov. Rick Scott
