Florida Could Face Special Election Due To GOP's Redistricting Shenanigans

After if was found out that the Republican-led legislature really screwed up by leaking redistricting maps, and in some instances, letting consultants loyal to them draw up some of those maps, Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis ordered the legislators to fix the issue by August 15.

So now Republican leadership in the Florida legislature has called a special session to specifically deal with this issue.

Florida Speaker of the House, Will Weatherford (R), is not too please with having to call a special session.

“We continue to maintain our strong objection to any attempt to disrupt the current election process. Florida’s Supervisors of Elections have raised serious concerns over changing the elections process at this late date.”
