Ted Cruz Interview at the Family Leadership Summit

Texas Senator Ted Cruz sat down with Breitbart News Saturday and The David Webb Show on Sirius XM Patriot Channel 125 on Saturday as part of their extended coverage of the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa.

Cruz said he “was trying to encourage conservatives” at the summit because, “despite what the media tells us, conservatives are winning major victories over and over, again.” He went onto say he believed they are “on the verge of turning the country around.”

To illustrate his point, Cruz went through what he called seven victories of the last two years, or recent instances in which conservatives have prevailed.

They included stopping Obama’s gun control legislation in the Senate, the Hobby Lobby win at the Supreme Court, the banning of Iranian appointed UN ambassador Hamid Abutalebi from stepping on U.S. soil due to his links to terrorism and the return to the US of Mariam Yehya Ibrahim, a Sudanese Christian woman sentenced to death in Sudan because of her faith.

Rounding out Cruz’s list were the reversal of the FAA’s recent ban on flights to Israel, the ongoing fight over America’s immigration policy, in which Cruz believes conservatives will prevail and the continuing battle to repeal ObamaCare.

While acknowledging the last two “victories” were incomplete, Cruz used some Texas slang to say they are “fixin’ to be complete.” Clearly Cruz sees the last two issues as rally points for conservatives going forward.
