State Senator Kevin de León was elected in 2010 to represent California’s 22nd senatorial district. Recently he sent out fliers to promote his re-election which state, incorrectly, that he is running for State Assembly.
De León’s staff sent corrected versions of the mailer to 70,000 residents in his district. However, the vendor hired to create the mailer apparently delivered a small quantity of the botched version to the post office.
Dave Jacobson, a spokesman for De León, told the LA Times, “We believe that less than 1% were wrong.”
The candidate, who previously served in the Assembly starting in 2006, told the Times, “I must be subliminally nostalgic for the Assembly’s green carpet.”
