Medical Marijuana Farmers Market Opening in Los Angeles

This Independence Day weekend, Los Angeles will host the world’s first medical marijuana farmer’s market, a gathering where interested buyers can purchase cannabis directly from the source–the growers themselves.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the California Heritage Market seeks to foster a better relationship between patients and growers, while educating users. “We’re hoping that the California Heritage Market can bridge this gap and provide a new and affordable experience for those who need safe access they can trust,” said the executive administrator of the California Heritage Market, Paizley Bradbury.

The market will reportedly take place from July 4-6 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. in East Los Angeles at the new West Coast Collective dispensary at 1500 Esperanza Street.

In May of this year, Assembly Bill 2500, which would have allowed police to issue DUIs to any driver with trace amounts of THC–the main mind-altering ingredient found in marijuana–was defeated by the state’s Assembly Public Safety Committee.

A California-based medical marijuana provider recently introduced a marijuana-infused lubricant called “Foria” that promises a heightened sexual experience and “multiple orgasms” to the cannabis marketplace.
