Thousands Attend 'Prayer Service' For Critically Wounded San Bernardino Police Officer

Approximately 2,000 people attended a community prayer service for critically wounded San Bernardino police officer Gabriel Garcia on August 25.

Garcia was shot “once in the head and twice in the torso”  in “an ambush” on August 22. He is currently in a medically-induced coma.

The Sun reports that “San Bernardino Police Chaplain Ray Miller asked the 2,000 people attending the service…to pray for ‘Gabe’s healing, for his complete recovery.'”

According to CBS Los Angeles, San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said Garcia is still in critical condition but added “there has been some positive news.” The chief stressed that “this is still a process and this is going to be a long road” for Garcia and his family.

The gunman who ambushed Garcia was shot and killed by another officer.
