U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents apprehended a man caught transporting approximately $636,400 of extremely potent China White heroin along I-15 in Murrietta, California Tuesday morning, just weeks after a $166K bust in nearby San Clemente.

About 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, CBP agents stopped a man in a Volkswagon Passat headed north on I-15 for questioning, according to a CBP release. The driver claimed to be headed to the neighboring city of Temecula to visit his uncle. During the stop, a K-9 was alerted to the vehicle. The male driver consented to a vehicle search at a checkpoint close by.

Heroin weighing an approximate 32.63 pounds was found inside an after-market compartment within the vehicle’s exhaust tunnel during a search of the Passat. The estimated $636,400 of China White heroin was found packaged in 24 individual bundles wrapped with cellophane.

Agents arrested the 21-year-old U.S. citizen driving the vehicle for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He was handed over to Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Investigative Bureau.

“This is a clear example of effective and professional enforcement by Border Patrol agents,” National Border Patrol Council Union Spokesperson Gabe Pacheco told Breitbart News.

Just a few weeks ago, CBP agents in San Clemente, California apprehended a 30-year-old male smuggling $166,000 worth of China White in the battery of the vehicle he was driving, Breitbart previously reported.

“China White heroin, or Acetyl Fentanyl, is a relatively new drug that consists of heroin mixed with Fentanyl. The substance can be five times more potent than normal heroin, and has already caused numerous deaths around the United States,” according to the previous report.
