74-Year-Old Bakersfield Resident Shoots Stalker to Save Neighbor

On November 21, a 74-year-old Bakersfield resident heard his neighbor scream, ran to her aid, and shot the stalker who was attacking her.

According The Bakersfield Californian, 74-year-old Ronnie Green “heard a woman scream” and went to help. He knew his neighbor was being stalked by 51-year-old Greg Miller, so he grabbed a gun before going to her house.

When he reached the neighbor’s house, Miller was inside and began confronting Green with a knife. As the confrontation progressed, Green drew his gun and shot Miller in the foot, causing him to run to his vehicle and flee.

Minutes after fleeing, Miller crashed the vehicle “at Meacham and Allen roads.” Witnesses who called 911 said Miller was “yelling and running in the road.”

When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, Miller was arrested and taken to a hospital to have his wound treated. He was charged with “stalking, battery, elderly abuse and making criminal threats.”
