Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Airport reportedly lost their cool when a JetBlue passenger sent his pet cat through the x-ray machine on Wednesday, after stowing his furry feline in his checked bag.

HOLY SHIT. A dude just put his cat inside the X-Ray machine at LAX. The TSA is flipping the fuck out.

LAX Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Belinda Nettles told the local NBC News affiliate in Los Angeles that the passenger had told TSA agents that he did not know animals were not supposed to be sent through the X-ray machines. After the cat was checked and deemed physically fit, both passenger and pet were permitted to board the flight.

“It’s not unheard of that people have done that [sent their pets through X-ray machines], which is why we try to educate them,” TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers told LA Weekly. “When you travel with your pet, do not put your pet on the x-ray. The number one thing is you should never separate yourself from your pet. We know people love to travel with their animals.”

The incident marks the second time in one week that someone has placed their pet through an X-ray at the airport.
