One man stabbed another after arguing over recyclables Thursday night in San Diego, police told reporters.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. the two men started an argument that turned violent. One man pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed the other. The suspect then got into the victim’s truck and attempted to drive away, but hit a pole, according to NBC San Diego.

The suspect then fled the truck, jumping in his own vehicle and fleeing the scene.

The vehicle is described as a white 2006 or 2007 model Nissan Frontier. The scene of the incident was the 7900 block of Ivanhoe Ave in the La Jolla area of San Diego, considered a very affluent shopping area near Prospect Street. The location is about two blocks from the beach.

The stabbing victim suffered three non-life threatening cuts to the stomach and was taken to the hospital, the report indicates. Suspect appears to remain on the loose. He is described as 5’ 4,” medium build, 32 years old. His clothing at the time of the assault was a white, short-sleeved shirt and jeans.

A San Diego police representative was not immediately available for comment.
