A new video release from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) suggests that women did not always consent to the use of their aborted babies’ parts for sale.
Episode two of the new “Human Capital” documentary series shows Holly O’Donnell, a former StemExpress employee who operated out of Fresno and Stockton Planned Parenthood clinics, recounting her time harvesting aborted baby parts.
O’Donnell, a phlebotomist by trade, describes her experiences while working as a procurement technician.
“It’s not an option, it’s a demand,” supervisors told O’Donnell, according to her account. She tells of experiencing extreme pressure to get pregnant women to consent to donate the “fetal tissue.” [original emphasis]
O’Donnell says, “If there was a higher gestation, and the technicians needed it, there were times when they would just take what they wanted. And these mothers don’t know. And there’s no way they would know.” [original emphasis]
The young woman explained that she would sometimes tell crying and conflicted young women that they did not have to go through with the abortion. She says she would then tell the woman to get out of there, run.
O’Donnell also said she was given schedules of what aborted baby parts might become available based on appointments for a given day. “They give you a sheet, and it’s everybody for that day, who’s coming in for an ultrasound, who’s coming in for an abortion, medical or a late-term abortion.” Even pregnancy tests were considered a potential supply: “Pregnancy tests are potential pregnancies, therefore potential specimens. So it’s just taking advantage of the opportunities.” (original emphasis)
O’Donnell worked for StemExpress from December 2012 to April 2013, a “person with knowledge of O’Donnell’s employment” told the Fresno Bee.
StemExpress, a longtime Planned Parenthood contractor, has sued CMP in an effort to prevent additional videos involving their company from release. StemExpress partners with Planned Parenthood to procure aborted baby parts, purchasing them for scientific experimentation.
CMP attorney Katy Short told Breitbart News that in legal proceedings Thursday, StemExpress was denied access to specifically requested information from CMP. The ruling was made simply on early discovery. The outcome of future proceedings remains uncertain.
CMP continues to face legal action from the National Abortion Federation, a major abortion supporter.
Planned Parenthood has launched an aggressive public relations campaign to counter what it is calling “heavily edited” video.
Public outrage of the video revelations has helped fuel renewed efforts at the state and federal level to defund the government-subsidized abortion provider Planned Parenthood. Several states have cancelled contracts with Planned Parenthood, and others are in the process of considering similar action, Breitbart News has reported. The Obama administration has responded with threats of cutting off federal Medicaid funding.
