The Los Angeles Times is blaming right-wing extremists for violence started by left-wing extremists on Sunday in Sacramento and at other rallies throughout the state.

In an article titled “Violence in Sacramento shows old and new faces of white extremism” — a headline that gives no indication that the violence was in fact planned and started by left-wing extremists — the Times claims that right-wing groups deliberately instigate violence directed against them to fuel their claimed of being victimized.

Citing the left-wing Anti-Defamation League, the Times reports: “The [right-wing] groups will often announce a rally, seemingly bait counter-demonstrators into violence, and then use video footage of the attacks as further evidence of the ‘white genocide’ they use as a rallying call.”

Breitbart News has reported that left-wing extremist groups, such as By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), have deliberately used violence against right-wing extremists to further their own radical agenda. The groups bring knives and planks of wood to right-wing rallies, and their members often attack while wearing masks. The Times shows little interest in who these groups are and what they are doing.

Right-wing extremists do have an agenda to push. They are trying to use the presidential campaign to boost their own profile, claiming that they are demonstrating to defend supporters of Donald Trump from violence. The Sacramento Bee reports that some of the extremists from the rally in Sacramento are planning to show up outside the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next month.

But the tactics used by left-wing groups to attack skinheads, neo-Nazis and white supremacists for constitutionally protected free speech are also being used against ordinary Trump supporters, who were recently beaten and chased through the streets of San Jose in scenes that shocked the nation.

Democratic politicians have blamed Trump for the violence, thereby helping the left-wing extremists achieve their goals.
