Video of a group of grown men kicking, punching and wrestling each other at a Northern California mall on Black Friday has gone viral.

The brawl took place at the Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto late Thursday night, and was posted to Twitter by user “superdupersebas”. According to the Associated Press, the men were shopping for last-minute deals.

The video shows one man punching another who had been knocked down, and also shows what appears to be a group of six men fighting with one another. At one point, two men can be seen swinging at each other while several others wrestle on the floor near one of the mall’s larger stores.

The Twitter post includes the “@WORLDSTAR” handle, which is a reference to the World Star Hip Hop site, where users often post videos of street brawls and impromptu fights that are then shared widely on social media.

The person filming the video, apparently a male, can also be heard chanting “World Star! World Star!” as he watches the action unfold below, laughing as the violent chaos breaks out among frightened shoppers below.

Mall spokeswoman Annie Aimes told the AP the fight was resolved quickly, thanks to the help of mall security.

Black Friday is the largest shopping day of the year for Americans, who are looking to find great deals before the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays. Retailers have traditionally relied on the day to push their balance sheets “into the black” — hence the day’s name.

Last Thursday’s violence was echoed throughout other parts of the United States. A 33-year-old man was shot and killed in Nevada on Thursday evening, in the parking lot of a Reno Walmart. Law enforcement said the immediate cause was an altercation over a parking spot. Meanwhile, in southern New Jersey, two men were shot — one fatally — outside of a Macy’s.
