Nephew of First Israeli Arab Police Commissioner Murdered in Suspected Family Dispute

The Times of Israel reports: The nephew of Israel’s first-ever Arab Muslim police deputy commissioner was shot dead in the Galilee town of Kfar Kanna on Saturday.

Anan Hakrush, 48, was found alive in his car Saturday morning with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was rushed to the Poriya Medical Center in Tiberias, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Relatives told Haaretz newspaper that Hakrush, who has no prior criminal history, was likely killed in a family dispute, and termed his murder an “internal settling of scores.”
