McConnell’s Iran Deal Kabuki Won’t End the Filibuster

Senate Majority Leader appears to be taking last-ditch steps to stop the Iran deal, including an amendment that would prohibit President Barack Obama from lifting any sanctions until Ian lets four American captives go, and recognizes the State of Israel. However, McConnell’s ploy is just “kabuki” theater that will punish Democrats for supporting the Iran deal without stopping the deal itself.

In an attempt to shore up support for President Obama’s much-hated Iran nuclear deal, the New York Times published a list of legislators who voted against the deal. But the list immediately sparked charges of anti-Semitism because one of the categories identified whether or not the Senators were Jewish. It wasn’t long before the list was taken down.

GOP’s Iran ‘Failure Theater’ Becomes Sad-Sack Circus

GOP leaders in the Senate are feebly complaining and whining about the Democrats’ solid support for President Barack Obama’s nuke-and-cash deal give-away to Iran. GOP leaders will fight hard for goals sought by business groups–such as free-trade deals–but will only pretend to fight for conservatives’ ideological and social priorities, such as pro-American immigration reform, say these critics.

Trump: ‘Israel Will NOT Survive’ With Iran Nuclear Deal In Place

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump warns Americans that “Israel will not survive” if the incompetence of the political class continues to dictate our foreign policy. Trump appeared Wednesday at the rally to stop the Iran nuclear deal in front of the U.S. Capitol. Introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz, who called Trump his “friend,” and entering to raucous applause against the backdrop of REM’s classic hit “It’s The End of the World As We Know It,” Trump pulled no punches.

NY Mag: Sheldon Adelson Is Ready to Buy the Presidency

On issue after issue — from military aid to settlement policy — the GOP now offers Israel unconditional and unquestioning support, so much so that some Republicans now liken the country to America’s “51st state.” The person most responsible for this development is the multibillionaire casino magnate and Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
