Georgia Man Pleads Guilty to Attempting to Join ISIS

MyFoxAtlanta reports that Leon Nathan Davis, a 37-year-old resident of Augusta, Georgia, has pleaded guilty in federal court on charges of “helping and attempting to join the ISIS terrorist organization.” Prosecutors say he could be looking at up to “15 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.”

While the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS) has made major inroads in the city of Ramadi and territories increasingly close to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, Kurdish forces backed by American airstrikes have reported major progress in the north of the country, with the Iraqi government reporting that an American airstrike has killed the ISIS governor of Mosul.
